The Scottish Baronial mansion in the heart of Midtown Omaha has been enchanting visitors since the doors first opened in 1903. Whether it’s a family outing, a day with your co-workers, or gathering with your friends, we welcome you to tour the historic Joslyn Castle.
Public Tour Hours
Fall/Winter 2025 – 2026 (September 1 – March 1)
- Sunday: 10:30am and 12:30pm
- Monday: 12:30pm
- Wednesday: 12:30pm
- Thursday: 12:30pm
- Friday: 12:30pm
Reservations are not required for public tours. Closed on major holidays. While the gardens and grounds are always open to the public, the Joslyn Castle building is only open to the public during scheduled tour times and programs.

Admission for all Castle tours
- $17 — Adults
- $15 — Seniors, students, and military
A Senior is considered 60 years old or older, and a student is K-12 and University.

Public Tour FAQs
What is included in a tour?
Your tour of the Castle includes the main, second and third floor. The tour begins with a ten minute video overview of George and Sarah Joslyn’s story, followed by a room-by-room guided tour. The length of the tour is about 90 minutes.
Admission prices for all Castle tours
- $17 Adults
- $15 Seniors, students, and military.

Do I need to make a reservation for a public tour?
No, we do not currently offer advanced tickets. Please arrive 15 minutes early as capacity is limited.
Where do we go for a tour?
Meet at the front doors of the Castle. The doors will be opened 15 minutes prior to the start of the tour. We get very busy during the tourist season, so, plan to arrive early and be here when the doors open.
Is photography allowed during a tour?
Yes, snap away! Please no flash photography.
Is there a gift shop?
Yes, we have a small gift shop located in the historic Joslyn Castle Carriage House. The shop is open after public tours.
Is the tour kid-friendly?
Tours are best suited for school-aged children. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Not recommended for children under 5. Due to the nature of our guided tours, parents of disruptive children may be asked to leave.
Is the Castle accessible?
Free parking is available on site. For those with mobility issues, there is an internal elevator, and an external lift at the back steps near the upper parking lot.
